  • Dr Lisa Bethune

    Dr Lisa Bethune grew up in Northern Virginia horse country. She rode horses all through her childhood and showed hunter/jumpers through college.

    She earned her BS from Sweet Briar College and her MPH from University of Maryland. She moved to New England when she attended Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine for her DVM. She completed a one year internship at Rhinebeck Equine where she received additional training in surgery, medicine, and anesthesia.

    Following her internship she worked for a year at Equine Sports Medicine in Saratoga, NY where her interest in dentistry grew. She then worked at Essex Equine for six years before starting All Horses Great and Small with Dr Amy Clark. Her professional interests include emergency medicine, dentistry, and preventative care. When not working, Dr Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, including her beautiful daughter, Annalin.

  • Dr Amy Clark

    Dr Amy Clark grew up in New Brunswick Canada and graduated from Atlantic Veterinary College with her DVM in 2005, she then moved to Massachusetts and has called the Greater Boston area home ever since. Dr Clark achieved further training in acupuncture through the Colorado State University eMAV program in 2012, then went on to train in spinal manipulation (often referred to as chiropractic care) in 2014. She continued to follow her passion for equine preventative care, becoming certified in Equine Veterinary Rehabilitation and Performance Medicine through the Chi Institute in Florida in 2021.

    Dr Clark’s passion for horses started at a young age when her parents moved to a farm. She grew up helping in the boarding and teaching program. She continues to enjoy riding both for pleasure as well as competing in Eventing.

  • Dr Katie Shaffer

    Katie grew up in Massachusetts and has always had an affinity for animals. In 2014, she graduated summa cum laude with her bachelors degree in animal science from the University of Connecticut. There, she rode on UConn’s equestrian team, worked with their Morgan breeding program, and attended as many UConn basketball games as possible. Katie spent some time working as a small animal veterinary technician before deciding the equine world was where her heart was at.

    Most recently, Katie graduated with her DVM from the University of Florida in the spring of 2023. She has since returned home to Massachusetts and joined All Horses Great and Small as an intern veterinarian. She enjoys helping horses and their owners achieve their goals as a team. Her professional interests include internal medicine and neurology.

    She currently lives in Acton with her husband Matt, their two cats Martin from Geico and Flo from Progressive, and their 6 rabbits. In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with her semi-retired OTTB Fiona, working on DIY projects, watching the Boston Bruins with her family, and enjoying the outdoors of New England.

  • Lisa Schiavone

    Lisa Schiavone grew up in the greater Boston area and spent her childhood taking riding lessons and being at the barn. As she grew up, she became a working student, IEA team captain, barn manager and licensed riding instructor.

    Lisa attended an agricultural high school and majored in agricultural mechanics, also taking classes in animal and plant science. She then went on to graduate from UMass Dartmouth with a degree in Small Business Management/Entrepreneurship.

    After college, she spent time traveling and then joined Essex Equine as a Veterinary Assistant and after 4 years became Lead Veterinary Technician.

    “Tech” Lisa has now joined the team at All Horses Great and Small as Office Manager/Technician with her dog Roo!

  • Ryan Healy

    Ryan graduated from Mount Ida College in 2010 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Veterinary Technology. While in school, he was a kennel manager, worked at local small animal ER, was Vice President of the Student Chapter of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians (SCNAVTA) in America, and also the large animal teaching assistant.

    He completed internships with New England Equine Medical and Surgical Center, Tufts University Hospital for Large Animals, and the teaching farm at Tufts, as well as contributing writing a reproduction chapter in “Veterinary Technician’s Large Animal Daily Reference Guide;” published by Wiley Blackwell. After graduating, he worked at a large eventing barn and then as a veterinary technician for an ambulatory practice before joining All Horses Great and Small.

  • Cathy Hooper

    Cathy grew up and still lives in Bedford Ma with her husband Bill where they raised their two sons. She worked as a radiologic technologist at Emerson hospital in Concord Ma from 1975 to 1988 covering the weekend emergency room.

    As a member of the horse community for over 45 years, Cathy has worked as an independent trainer/instructor in the greater Boston area. Her path lead her to the office of Essex Equine where she worked as an office assistant for many years. A new and exciting opportunity opened up at All Horses Great and Small. "I am so excited to be on board with the such a great team!"

  • Jenn Raffi

    Jenn Raffi

    Jenn Raffi grew up with horses in Littleton, MA and hasn’t left the barn since.  She began showing Arabians as a kid before making the switch to dressage. Throughout her young rider career, she was heavily involved with high performance dressage and has her USDF Bronze and Silver medals and is a USDF L Graduate.

    Jenn has always had a passion for veterinary medicine and wanted to expand her knowledge. She worked for another equine practice before joining All Horses Great and Small team as a Veterinary Technician. 

    Jenn currently enjoys spending her free time at the barn training her horse Bebe and teaching lessons.
